French bulldog facts.
​French bulldog is a miniaturised version of an English bulldog. This makes it the smallest member of the Mastiff group.
The  colors that are permitted by the standard and can be shown in AKC sanctioned shows are as follows: pied, brindle, fawn , honeypied and cream. Cream color is not permitted to be shown in FCI (the rest of the World) shows.
The new designer colors such as : merle, chocolate, izabella, black, black/tan etc, are not acceptable colors within the breed. These new colors maybe linked to the health and personality changes within the breed.
Head-large and square, flat between the ears.
Weight-not over 28 pounds.
Tail-short, contains no less then 2 vertebrae. Dogs w/o tails are no longer permitted within FCI shows, but are OK within AKC. Absence of tail is correlated with spine problems in French Bulldogs.
